Military Attendance Supervisor Remains Silent Regarding Song Mino’s Inadequate Service Allegations

SBS’s program “Curious Story Y” broadcast on December 27th talked about Song Mino’s inadequate military service allegations.
A, a social service worker who worked with Song Mino, claimed, “When answering the phone, we must say, ‘This is (name) from Nosang Parking Team. How can I assist you?’, but Song Mino didn’t do the phone work, saying his name might be revealed. He didn’t do the tasks involving in-person interactions with the excuse that people would recognize his face. He visited the post office once and never did it again.” A added that Song Mino would sit in places that would be hard to recognize him, not places designated for social service workers.

In addition, A said, “He went to work regularly at first, but later on, he only showed up once or twice a week, or maybe 2-3 times. What’s worse is that he would appear only once or twice a month and now I barely see him”.
Regarding the allegations of Song Mino neglecting military duties, the Facility Management Corporation representative cautiously said, “Investigations on the issue are still going on, so we have to be careful when giving comments”, adding “We hope everyone understands that we cannot provide any information at this moment”.
A mental health specialist believed that Song Mino’s worsening panic disorder might have been the reason he was unable to participate in tasks involving appearing in front of large crowds. However, an official from the unit where Song Mino was assigned shared, “I saw him only 2-3 times during the past 10 months. It doesn’t make sense because annual leave and sick leave are limited. People said he attended regularly when he was at the headquarters. There were 200 people at the headquarters, but here, there are only 13. He didn’t even appear when the Military Manpower Administration visited. I guess he might have received special treatment”.
In the meantime, the military attendance supervisor in charge of Song Mino, who is suspected of giving special treatment to the male idol, refused to comment on the controversy and said to “Curious Story Y”, “If I make any wrong statement, that may go against Song Mino. I hope there will be a chance for me to talk about it later”.
Regarding Song Mino’s controversy, the Military Manpower Administration stated, “We already requested an investigation into the matter. We will take appropriate action depending on the result. Various regulations could be applied”. Regarding the punishment that Song Mino might face if the allegations are proven true, lawyer Kim Yoo-don said, “If one leaves their position without permission for 8 days, they might be sentenced to up to 3 years in prison.”
